Mozilla Web localization Dashboard

So you want to help localizing mozilla web parts? That's great news, thanks!

How can I help?

Technical requirements

First steps to get started

  1. Open a bugzilla account
  2. Use a UTF8 capable editor
(note: if you don't have a favourite text editor yet, Geany is a good choice for the Linux and Windows platforms, it has the nice feature of indicating in the status bar the current encoding of your document)
  3. look at the open bugs for your language by clicking on your locale code on the front page
  4. Choose one of the listed bugs for your locale and look at the instructions there
  5. Attach your translation to the bug
  6. If you are not already part of a localization team, your translation will be reviewed by one of the localizers for your locale before being used on the web site.

I strongly suggest that you contact me (pascal.chevrel@mozilla-europe.org) before starting big translations so as to make sure that some other volunteer is not already working on it and we don't duplicate work.

Thanks!
