Mozilla Localization Sign-Off Application Privacy Policy

May 2010

This privacy policy applies to the localization sign-off application (the “Application”). We have other privacy policies that apply to our websites and products. You may wish to review the Mozilla Website Privacy Policy or the Mozilla Firefox Privacy Policy.

As a user of the Application, you are asked to provide some personally identifiable information, namely your first and last names, your personal email address, your role on the localization team, and your relevant skills. We use this information to authenticate you on the Application, communicate with you about localization projects and issues, and distribute and coordinate work. While Mozilla doesn’t sell or share this information with other organizations, keep in mind that it is available to other localizers who use the Application. The information Mozilla collects from you may be stored on servers outside your home country. By participating on the localization team, you consent to the transfer of your information to our servers in whatever country they may be located.

In future, Mozilla may ask you to provide additional personal information such as your phone number so that we can call you if there is a time-sensitive need to reach you, and your mailing address so we can send you thank you gifts. If Mozilla begins collecting this additional information we will update this privacy policy to advise you how the information will be used and disclosed, and will alert you that the privacy policy has been changed, probably through an announcement to our localization newsgroup, and on the Application's website. We will also advise you if any other substantive changes are made to the privacy policy.

The Application is not directed at children, and Mozilla will not accept or request personally identifiable information from individuals we know to be under 13.  In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), if we learn that a child under 13 has provided personally identifiable information, we will either (i) delete this information from our databases, in accordance with our deletion procedures, or (ii) obtain verifiable parental consent, in accordance with COPPA. If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact us at privacy@mozilla.com.
