386b9c750bd2 Gijs Kruitbosch <gijskruitbosch@gmail.com> — Bug 1241085 - part 2: rip out userTypedClear and replace it with more self-documenting stuff, r=mconley userTypedClear was used for two cases: 1) to keep track of whether we were in the middle of a loadURI call. This use is replaced by inLoadURI, which is more sane when using e10s (though it's hard to be precise there because we're sending all web navigation calls to the content process and this introduces a degree of asynchronousness that we just have to live with...). 2) to keep track of whether we were between a network start and a corresponding network stop, and whether the user typed since the load properly started. This is now tracked on a small object on the browser binding, which has appropriately named method so we're not just incrementing some magic number but actually understand what we're saying, and so the information we get out (did the user type since this load started or not?) makes sense. Note that we're keeping userTypedClear in session store information in order to remain backwards compatible. It becomes a simple boolean-stored-as-int (1 or 0) that indicates whether we quit/crashed/stopped while a load was pending, or not. MozReview-Commit-ID: 5NbmVueocC7

This patch: - Adds MOZ_MUST_USE to AllocPolicy::checkSimulatedOOM(). - Adds MOZ_MUST_USE to LZ4::decompress() (both variants) and fixes their comments. - Changes the return type of SplayTree::insert() from bool to void, because it always returns true and its callers don't check the return value. - Changes the return type of SplayTree::finishInsertion() from T* to void, because it makes things clearer -- it was just returning the aNew argument. - Adds MOZ_MUST_USE to a Vector::growTo() (both variants).

f1cc4e505984 Markus Stange <mstange@themasta.com> — Bug 1227327 - Use regular background image display items for painting button backgrounds. r=mattwoodrow This has multiple benefits: - It makes DLBI detection of background-position changes work for buttons. - It makes background-attachment: fixed work for button backgrounds. - It allows the willPaintBorder optimization to be used for button background drawing, which reduces the background clip to not overlap with opaque borders. The willPaintBorder optimization requires a change to the reftest 611574-2.html. This reftest compares backgrounds to inset box shadows. Box shadows those don't have a willPaintBorder optimization, so we'd get different results due to the borders - inset box shadows will bleed through the rounded corner anti-aliasing of the border, backgrounds won't any more. So we just turn off button borders and cover the outer edges of the borders with an outline in that reftest. MozReview-Commit-ID: Lvx2p5szjw7 *** Cover the antialiasing in 611574-2.html with a black outline. MozReview-Commit-ID: IHC3B7Eq72j

5e83a4f7237e Markus Stange <mstange@themasta.com> — Bug 1227327 - Invalidate table parts and MathML frames when background-position changes on them. r=dbaron Theoretically we should do the same for nsTreeBodyFrame, but that frame type is harder to detect and I'm not sure it's worth adding code to support updating background-position on XUL trees. releases/mozilla-beta eac275b1daa5 Michael Comella <michael.l.comella@gmail.com> — Bug 1245493 - Don't animate when showing toolbar when FF is first unhidden. r=margaret, a=ritu After this patch, I still occasionally see the toolbar positioned part way down from the top of the screen. However, this state looks slightly less janky without the animation I removed and I can't consistently reproduce it anymore. Given the DynamicToolbar.setVisible calls I make, I'd guess this is likely to be a bug caused by BrowserApp.onTabChanged (and thus DynamicToolbar.setVisible) not getting called instantly and so the DynamicToolbar is initialized to a different location on screen. I'd guess it's a bug in DynamicToolbar as to why it's positioned partially off-screen. There is a little bit of code duplication, but that is because the code to load a url on a new intent is duplicated (i.e. once from GeckoApp.initialize - the initial load - and once from GeckoApp.onNewIntent). This could potentially be cleaned up if we moved the app loading code into onResume, but that may not be possible since we need to wait for Gecko to start up. Additionally, this patch adds a lot of hard-to-follow global state, which is also not good. Preferred solution (bug 1269041): show the toolbar each time onStart is called (i.e. FF is unhidden). This is good for the user - they'll be more aware which page they're on - but it's janky with the current implementation, where the page content does not scroll when the toolbar is shown so previously visible content is hidden. Thus, I went with the other approach. fwiw, Chrome does this behavior, but scrolls the toolbar offscreen shortly after it is shown. This solution is blocked on bug 1245523. 82f0a7f855d3 Gerald Squelart <gsquelart@mozilla.com> — Bug 1268379 - Delay WMF checks in GMPParent - r=jesup a=ritu The WMF HasAAC/HasH264 checks were done off the main thread, as soon as the plugin was loaded, which was way too soon in the overall startup process, when the WMF subsystem may not have been properly initialized yet, or may be in the middle of it. The solution here is to delay these checks until they are actually needed to respond to a format-support request, as they come later in the process. Note: This may not be the ideal solution yet, as we are still relying on some magic sequencing of events. Other avenues have been explored unsuccessfully yet, but we may want to revisit this issue after this urgent patch has landed. MozReview-Commit-ID: JVgINc5FLFx

The check is overly restrictive if sizeof(E) is 1 byte, and overly permissive if sizeof(E) is greater than 2 bytes. I removed this check. Internal nsTArray invariants should be enforced by nsTArray methods. The second check is trying to check for overflow, but that should just be done using CheckedInt.

cd67607bb88d Andrzej Hunt <ahunt@mozilla.com> — Bug 1269406 - Pre: move BrowserAppDelegates into their own package r=sebastian Note: some delegates might live in other packages, e.g. our HelperUI related promotions (HomeScreenPromotion, ReaderViewBookmarkPromotion) live in org.mozilla.gecko.promotions. BookmarkStateChangeDelegate previously lived in promotions, however it isn't really a promotion (we're just showing snackbars, and showing one helper UI to explain offline reader view bookmarks _after_ such a bookmark has been created), hence it seems a better fit for delegates. 31722794d6c2 Ben Kelly <ben@wanderview.com> — Bug 1265795 P4 Always call nsDocument::SetScriptGlobalObject(nullptr) from nsDocument::Destroy(). r=bz a=ritu Currently there are certain paths in nsDocumentViewer that can call nsDocument::Destroy(), but fail to call SetScriptGlobalObject(nullptr). This results in the global never being cleared. This patch refactors things so nsDocument::Destroy() always clears the global. This ensures a more consistent document teardown since we don't rely on external callers to get multiple method calls correct.
